, Mr. André Fortier, President and Chief Executive Officer of MSV Resources Inc. and GéoNova Explorations Inc., met with Mr. James McCartney, Chairman of Campbell’s Board of Directors, to discuss the possibility for Campbell to participate in the MSV, GéoNova grouping strategy in order to optimize the various mining activities in the Chibougamau mining camp.
7 December, 2000
, Campbell’s Board of Directors adopted the strategy of concentrating its activities on Campbell’s mining achievements in Québec and Mr. Fortier is appointed President and Chief Executive Officer.
June 2001
, Campbell Resources Inc. merged with MSV Resources Inc. and GéoNova Explorations Inc. to form a stronger operating presence in the Chibougamau mining camp of Québec. In addition to economies of scale, the larger entity also provides a platform for further consolidation in Québec.
November 2001
, Campbell Resources Inc. announces the beginning of exploration and development activities at the Joe Mann Mine, whose operations had been teporarily suspended in November 2000, during the reorganization of the compary.
In 2002
, the highlight for Campbell Resources was the resumption of operations at it's Joe Mann Mine in April.
Moreover, almost one year after it's re-opening, the mine is now operating satisfactorily at a sustainable production rate.
During 2003
, the strategic objective will be to increase the level of produciton to improve the cost base through a combination of the introduction of innovative mining techniques and identification of additional sources of ore from the Joe Mann Property.
The mining plan call for the production of approximately 54,000 ounces of gold and 900,000 pounds of copper.
